Here’s a video of The Pass playing at Headliners (presumably on Feb. 18):

The Pass @ Headliners, Louisville,KY from Adam Snyder on Vimeo.

From an impromptu, casual chat with The Pass’s drummer Neil Lucas, we learned that The Pass is off the road and recording the tracks for the next CD, following a fairly steady round of tours over the summer and fall, with another round – better paying, Lucas said – of tours in early spring. Lucas laughed when said that some of the new material required him to do some serious exercising before he could play what was required.

Additionally, the group will be shopping the project around once completed. Their relationship with sonaBLAST! remains solid, however.

The Third Annual NuLuFest is today, with The Pass, The Broken Spurs, Leigh Ann Yost and Peter Searcy on the bill for entertainment.

C-J music writer J. L. Puckett committed the “U” word offense in his headliner for The Pass in today’s paper. Nonetheless, it’s a good writeup for the synth-pop boys.

Louisville Pod has a review of a show featuring Junk Yard Dogs and The Ladybirds. He liked it.

Kris King at Louisville Pod also profiled The Pass.

Louisville record label SonaBLAST! has been following a different business model for music for some time, with a focus primarily on getting their artists’ material into television programs, advertising and, presumably, movies. Their latest success is the placement of a tune by The Pass in a video created by Kembrel, a fashion firm that targets the college market. This one couldn’t be better for the Pass. Here’s the advertisement:
