Because we don’t have enough street festivals, the guys at The New Vintage decided to set one up and call it the Seven Sense Festival Music. It’s scheduled for September 20, on Preston Street at The New Vintage. There will be on the outdoor stages from 12 p.m. – 10 p.m. and after that the shows will then move indoors and the all-ages event will change to 21+. Those shows will last until 3 a.m. The performers currently scheduled are Bodeco, The Brian Olive Band, The Pass, Old Baby, Woody Pines, Lamont Gillispie & 100 Proof, The Instruction, Graffitti, Local Villains, Howell Dawdy, The Moonlight Peddlers and Small Time Napoleon. The Facebook page says “will be anchored by Zanzabar, The New Vintage, Greenhaus and Purrswaytions.” Stay tuned, as details are likely to change, particularly the lineup. Tickets run $35.00 – $50.00.

On May 25, hometown favorites HoundMouth will present a concert in Grand Theatre which will be the pièce de résistance for the kickoff of New Albany’s Bicentennial Park Summer Concert Series. Tagged the The Boomtown Ball & Festival, most of the event will be free, beginning at 1 p.m. with a Flea-Off Market, plus music by The River City Blues Band, The Kernal & His New Strangers, Ranger, Daniel Martin Moore, The Pass, Discount Guns, Fly Golden Eagle, and San Ferminon . The concert in the Grand, however, is not free and, sadly, the “cheap tickets” ($25) are long sold out. As of this writing, there were still some at $100. Houndmouth’s recent meteoric rise to success is pretty well-known to music fans in the Louisville area; their last two shows in the area, at Headliners on November 29 & 30, were sell-outs as well. So go enjoy the market and the rest of the bands.

The Pass have wrapped their series of single releases via SonaBLAST! Records that began in January with the dance-pop combo of “Sunny Day” and “Don’t Take It”; February’s was a double dose of disco in “Without Saying” and “Never Compromise”; and last month featured the New Wave ballad “The Same” and the beach-pop of “Be Easy.” This month, it’s “Only For You” and “Layers.” The band will play a show at The New Vintage on Saturday, April 19.
