The twenty-three-year-old Taylor Swift must have really had a fine time at the Yum! Center, and, perhaps, in Louisville, when she was here, as she will be making her third stop at the arena on the river on May 7, with British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran opening. Swift has lived up to her last name with regards to her ascent in the Nashville music hierarchy, with awards by the bucketload (seven Grammys, eleven American Music Awards, seven Country Music Association Awards, six Academy of Country Music Awards) and four best-selling albums to date, including the most recent, Red, which is also the name of her current tour. A staple of the celebrity gossip media, Swift has achieved feats sufficient to get Sheeran, who has also been rocketing up the career ladder, to open for her. Tickets range from $32.50 to $88.50, if any are left by this time.
Here’s her “I Knew You Were Trouble” vid:
LMN Cowboy Corner columnist Michael Stout went to see Taylor Swift and wrote a review. Took a bunch of photos, too.
You really have to feel for J. L. Puckett, that long-time lover of Seventies soul, for having to go and review Taylor Swift’s show at the Yum! Center. He did a yeoman’s job, which focused on technique and showmanship, the audience, Swift’s stage chops and listed some of the songs she played. Also that the few men in attendance were happy to have the restrooms to themselves.
<>The Yum! Center cancellation was just the beginning of a bad week for country singer Taylor Swift; as the week progressed, her bronchitis did, too, and she had to cancel shows in Charlotte and Atlanta. Nashville.com has additional details.
