As usual on Friday, the C-J had a section on entertainment, with the usual plugs for the upcoming weekend, in this case, Memorial Day Weekend, which is quite full of things to do. A few of them:

Tim McGraw was announced as the final paid concert for the State Fair in August.

The U of L School of Music has a four-day series of events featuring the classical guitar. It began on Friday.

Joseph Lord previewed the concert by the Swell Season, held on Saturday.

The shunken Sunday Arts section has very brief items:

Abbey Road on the River producer Gary Jacob answers the “John or Paul” question.

Lynyrd Skynyrd answers the “Free Bird” request. Skynyrd plays the Horseshoe Casino tonight (Sunday)

Andrew Adler recommends that the Louisville Orchestra gets back to playing some of the works that were commissioned and recorded by the LO under Robert Whitney back in the Fifties.
