The announcement by Churchill Downs of the HullabaLOU Festival in July is echoing in the media around the country. CMT Radio has a simple report focused on Kenny Chesney (but not Loretta Lynn!?). Up in Indy, the Indianapolis Business Journal’s Lou Harry sees it as a reason for Indiana’s racinos to consider adding festivals. More is they come in…

Churchill Downs has announced a major festival, HullabaLOU, set for July 23-25, 2010, featuring 65 acts from every genre of music. With the corporate clout available from Churchill Downs, this should be a festival that will work and be well-run. Beginning December 4, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. EST, tickets go on sale at www.hullabaloufest.com. Bon Jovi, Kenny Chesney and the Dave Matthews Band will headline, but the list is huge. Here’s what they’re rolling by so far: Bon Jovi; Kenny Chesney; Dave Matthews Band; Al Green; Zac Brown Band; Steve Miller Band; Gladys Knight; Jason Aldean; Doobie Brothers; Michael McDonald; Loretta Lynn; Colbie Caillat; The O’Jays; Steppenwolf; The Black Crowes; Kansas; B-52S; Gloriana; 38 Special; War; Richard Marx; Gov’t Mule; Musiq Soulchild; Taj Mahal; Sam Bush; Chrisette Michele; Dwight Yoakam; and Joan Osborne.

There’ll be plenty more talk about this one.
