They call her the Empress Of Soul and she’s a seven-time Grammy winner, but when most people think of Gladys Knight, they think of Gladys Knight And The Pips, from her biggest hit-making years in the Sixties, Seventies and Eighties. She’s pretty much been a fixture in the entertainment business for a half-century, both with the Pips and as a solo performer. She recorded and released albums of soul, R&B, soft rock, gospel, funk, doo wop and, of course, that Motown sound. She’s done a number of television shows, including “Dancing With The Stars,” and is an author and businesswoman. Her accomplishments just go on and on, but what counts for most fans is her singing, which she will be doing at the Louisville Palace on September 12. Tickets are $39.99-$79.99 plus fees.
