How often do you get to call the shots? Well, how about for The Ataris, who are stopping in at Headliners on the You Call The Shots Tour, along with Teenage Kicks, Fast Friends and Blacklist Royals, on November 21. The Ataris a band that began in Anderson, Indiana, who’ve been punkin’ and rollin’ for nearly a decade. As these things happen, the personnel changes have been frequent enough that the band is like the old farmer’s axe: hey, it’s the same axe/band. There’s one original member left, actually, They’ve got five studio albums, includng one certified gold (So Long, Astoria) back in 2009. They’ve managed one chart single, “The Boys Of Summer,” in 2003. In short, it’s a journeyman rock band. For this tour, the fans will pick the songs, as advertised. Tickets are $15. It’s an 18-and-over show.

Review: Louisville Post-Punk Fast Friends

Little Heart Records continues to gather up punk and post-punk (and variations thereon) bands, building a pretty impressive roster for a Louisville label. A Syd Bishop review of You And Yours by Fast Friends, a Louisville post-punk band, has the band listed as a Little Heart act but the label’s website doesn’t list them, suggesting that Bishop is ahead of the label. It’s a ‘problem’ most labels would die for, of course. In any case, read it yourself here.
