Cheyenne Mize
Seluah
Seluah teams up with Cheyenne Marie Mize for a December 1 show at Headliners, kicking off the holiday music season with a contrasting mix of some of Louisville’s finest original music. Seluah, of course, has recently re-arisen after a long silence, with Red Parole, a widely praised album recorded at Kevin Ratterman’s The Funeral Home studio. Tagged as “melding elements of Massive Attack, Portishead, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, The Ventures and Radiohead,” Seluah walks a path trod by very few other bands. In other words, it’s a Louisville band.
Cheyenne Mize has been at the receiving end of a lot of praise and no small amount of opportunities since releasing her first SonaBLAST! project, Before Lately. The New York Times described her music as “tough, dreamy, cloudy-sky country and chamber pop,” with a “rare voice, sweet without being cloying, and weary without hopelessness.” She has a new record, Among The Grey, released last June to promote. Tickets are only $5.
