Nicole Sherzinger, along with Paula Abdul and host Steve Jones are out at The X-Factor, as Simon Cowell goes for the big shake-up. Sherzinger needn’t worry, however, as her musical career seems to be picking up, as in picking up gigs and guest spots here and there, this time with the Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am, who recorded a classical song with Sherzinger for his upcoming record #willpower. Sherzinger also has a slot as a judge on Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “SuperStar” program.

Puckett really earned his paycheck this week, with a Features cover story on Cheyenne Marie Mize, playing Headliners on Saturday; a piece on Dick Sisto’s last shows at the Seelbach Jazz Bar; Jane Monheit at the Ogle Center; a longish preview of Kathleen Edwards’ show at Headliners; a blurb about Homefront’s fundraiser at River Bend Winery; a blurb about the Acoustic Cafe show featuring Carrie Rodriquez in Lexington (it was at Uncle Slayton’s last night); a blurb about the Anthrax show at Expo 5 and a Road Trip blurb about Jukebox the Ghost in Cincinnati. Betcha he spends his weekend with his fingers in an ice pack…

There haven’t been any posts about the Ben ThornewillledJukebox The Ghost lately but not because the band hasn’t been busy – it has. The band has SXSW again this year, to be followed by a tour with Speak and The Elwins. No doubt, they’ll get back to Louisville before long.
