Steepwater
Chicago’s Steepwater Band is your Friday night concert band at Jim Porter’s on November 21. What started as Chicago-style blues band (named after a Lake Michigan cargo ship) in 1999 turned into a blues-rock band, then rock ‘n’ roll band with a heavy blues feel. They were regulars at the Chicago Blues Festival in the early part of the last decade, then took to touring, having released a number of records of mostly original material. They’re now up to ten albums, the last 2013’s Live & Humble. They’ve also scored some solid television and movie synchronizations. Should be a good show, especially if you are a fan of the Allmans, the Stones and the like. Tickets are $10 adv/ $12 DoS
